Worship (The Priority Of Believers Pt.3)

Why do we worship God through Jesus Christ?  To understand, we must first understand something about ancient covenants.  Regardless of the type of covenant that was made - - and there were three main types - - they were sealed with a sacrifice and the shedding of blood.

Jesus raised Lazarus in the days leading up to his own crucifixion; the Pharisees plotted to kill Jesus and added Lazarus to the list of those marked for death.  Five days before the Passover was to be celebrated - - a feast that had been celebrated for 1500 years - - Jesus made his triumphal entry into Jerusalem.  "Hosanna to the King of Kings."  He was acknowledged as one who came in authority. . . "Blessed is He who comes in the Name of the Lord."

In Luke 22, we read of Jesus eating the Passover meal with his disciples and equating parts of it with the sacrifice He was about to make.  "This is my body . . . this is my blood."  Jesus was about to take the place of the sacrificial lamb.

In Hebrews, chapter 9, verses 11-15, we read:

But when Christ came as high priest of the good things that are now already here,[a] he went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not made with human hands, that is to say, is not a part of this creation. 12 He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, thus obtaining[b] eternal redemption. 13 The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that they are outwardly clean. 14 How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death,[c] so that we may serve the living God!

15 For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.

The Old Covenant (Exodus through Malachi) was with the nation of Israel. The New Covenant replaced the Old. The New Covenant God made with all nations which includes YOU!  Jesus made a binding contract  for mankind, and it is all totally upon Him.  THAT is why we worship Almighty God through Jesus Christ.
