Victor Brian Smith November 8, 1957 ~ May 28, 2022

Victor Brian Smith, age 64, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, while surrounded by family, on Saturday, May 28, 2022. Victor was born in Shelbyville, Indiana, on November 8, 1957, the son of Phyllis Binford Smith and the late Don Raymond Smith. Victor enjoyed working with teens. For over forty years he was able to share this gift through his career of teaching and coaching sports like baseball, basketball and softball. Mr. Smith had just retired in May of last year. He was an avid fan of the Cubs, also pulling for the Colts and the Bears when watching football. Victor enjoyed being outside in nature and was looking forward to spending time at home on his “homestead”, taking care of he and his wife’s animals.

Surviving are his wife of over forty years, Diane Smith; daughter, Lakin (Jamie) Smith of Hartsville, SC, Vincent (Mary Helen) Smith of Marianna, FL; grandchildren Laila and Gavin of Hartsville; Kaleb, Tyler, and Owen of Marianna, FL; mother, Phyllis Smith; and sisters Tonya (Marty) Brown and Shelley (Mike) Senteney. Victor was preceded in death by his father, Don Smith.

As an ordained Pastor in the Church of God of Prophecy, he held a passion for helping others through mission work. Victor had been to Haiti, Maldova and other countries to help people and spread the Gospel of Jesus. In honor of his love for mission work, the family ask that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to The King’s Academy Mission Account, c/o The King’s Academy, 1015 South Ebenezer Road, Florence, SC 29501.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 pm on Tuesday, May 31 at Belk Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at a later date at St. Mary’s Church of God of Prophecy in Georgia.
