fear

There is a lot of fear these days. You need to know there is such a thing as “good” fear and such a thing as “bad” fear. (Sister Kay took us through a survey of scripture from Old and New Testaments and explained the "good" fear of reverencing and honoring God versus the fear that makes us tremble.)
Below, please find a list of the scriptures used. If you were not able to be present Sunday, here's an opportunity to look them up and to understand the comments she made (inserted in paragraph form below). God bless your study.

My God is bigger than Covid-19. God is greater. If your thought pattern isn't right, you'll see Covid behind every tree. Don't allow the media's fear to get hold of you and make you live your life in panic. Be ready when Jesus returns.
Fear is a liar.
Acts 9:31
"Death ain't no big deal." It hurts the ones who are left behind and grieving, but for Christians it isn’t a big deal.

Philippians 2:12 - Wherefore, my brethren, as you always obey, not in my presence only, but much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling
Don't just be good in church or live right around the pastor; in the absence of those things, live right.
Salvation is not to be taken lightly.
II Timothy 1:7 God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and a sound mind.”
Fear torments the mind. Fear is always at the forefront of your mind. "What if, what if??" Fear is a liar. God doesn't want us to live "all shook up."
There is an unhealthy fear and a healthy fear. House burning? Get out. Rattlesnake? Don't pet it.
There’s an old saying that “Worry is an old man carrying a load of feathers which he thinks is lead.”
Hebrews 12:28
Hebrews 13:6 So that we may boldly say, "The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me." (Kay's first memory verse.)

If Jesus has overcome the world, remember that "greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world," and we are also overcomers. Recipe to help you have peace in your heart, turn off the news. AMEN As a child of God, we don't have to fear. We must make the choice not to fear. We know who holds tomorrow and who holds our hands. Jesus will see us through.
